Certano benders for Lapsteel arrived ahead of estimated delivery time!! Well Packaged..easy installation to my Recording King Lapsteel..makes it sound like an expensive pedal steel!! David Certano is a nice guy to communicate with, and will respond to any questions right away ( taking into consideration time difference.) His CL1 lap steel is high quality. The action height and spacing is really good, and the roller nut, roller bridge, tuners and benders quality is exceptional. This is a great instrument and a great price. I have successfully fitted a Certano G & B bender to a USA Standard Tele. The fitting was a bit of a challenge because it does not have the ashtray bridge, however I have it all working. The bender is high quality and works flawlessly. The only problem I have come across is when playing, and wanting to palm mute strings, moving the bender aside and then back means that the mounting screws loosen so it flops about. I am experimenting with additional nylon washers to compensate. If you are looking for a bender to retrofit to a Telecaster this is an excellent choice but don’t underestimate the alterations necessary to the tail piece and individual bridge blocks for a USA standard (non ashtray) type bridge.
